Fockups is a series of Photoshop mockup files created from real-life, less-than-ideal scenes by Dutch designer Wytze Hoogslag, co-founder of the creative studio Thansk.
Edition Highlights
- First Edition: Includes 8 “f*cked up” mockups featuring scenarios like a smartphone, flags, billboards, posters, and business cards in imperfect environments.
- Fockups 2: A second release containing 10 new mockups, such as A-size poster holders, a broken bottle with a torn label, and a presentation setup—all embracing weathered, humorous, or physically distressed settings.
- Design Philosophy
Traditional mockups often place designs in idealized, flawless contexts—floating in space with perfect lighting or serene backdrops. Fockups intentionally subverts that by embracing reality: designs battered by wind, rain, wear and tear, graffiti, failed information carriers, and human error—bringing a raw, relatable tone to create a presentation. - Recognition & Reach
Featured by reputable creative outlets like Creative Boom and Page Magazine. The project gained social traction following media coverage, with the creator noting that feedback such as “Funny because it’s true” resonated with many designers due to the honesty and humor embedded in the concept.
