Heroicons was created by the incredibly talented Steve Schoger in collaboration with the Tailwind CSS team. Like all of Steve’s work, this icon set stands out for its exceptional quality. Unlike most icon libraries that rely solely on scalable vectors, Heroicons are designed at specific sizes to ensure optimal clarity and legibility at every dimension.
As icons scale down, the visual detail is intentionally reduced to maintain readability—a level of precision rarely found even in premium icon sets, let alone free ones. Though the collection isn’t vast, it more than makes up for it with craftsmanship and usability. Heroicons are available in SVG and Figma formats, with official support for React and Vue development libraries.
