This public-facing library provides designers, developers, and practitioners with evidence-based principles, patterns, and examples for designing and delivering mental health products and services, especially in digital environments.
Launched around 2019 with support from Nominet and partners including Barnardo’s, Snook, Public Policy Lab, and youth charities, it’s meant to help create services that genuinely “work for people.” The resource also includes a community where you can contribute new patterns or case studies
The content is organized into:
- High‑level Principles (e.g., Listen and respond, Make it human, Be clear)
- Reusable Patterns (e.g., Lead with what you offer, Display hours of service) that implement those principles
- Real-world Examples from services such as NHS, Childline, YoungMinds, etc., showing the patterns in action
