World Illustration Awards is an esteemed global competition, organized by the Association of Illustrators (AOI) in partnership with the Directory of Illustration.
Now in its 10th year, the awards annually celebrate exceptional illustration work from around the world, recognizing both New Talent and Professional creators across ten diverse categories—from advertising and editorial to book covers and science & technology.
The competition unfolds in stages:
- Call for Entries opens every December
- Longlist (top 500) is announced in May
- Shortlist (top 200) follows in July
- Winners are revealed in September
- Selected works tour globally through exhibitions, bolstering exposure for participants
