AboutLuca is the personal creative sandbox and portfolio of Luca Nardi, an elite Italian creative developer and designer based in Venice. Known for pushing the structural boundaries of interactive front-end web development, Nardi serves as an official Awwwards jury member, marking his status as a premier technician in the global design community.
The portfolio abandons traditional, static layout structures entirely, opting instead for a sensory-heavy, motion-first framework built using Gatsby, React, and immersive Three.js/WebGL modules. The site drops users into a dark, liquid-like particle interface that reacts dynamically to screen interactions, scroll metrics, and mouse tracks. Built as a demonstration of high-tier interaction design, the platform seamlessly maps physical rendering logic—such as FBO (Frame Buffer Object) swapping and audio-synchronized transitions—to transform a standard case-study list into a high-performance, cinematic story.
Key Features
- Immersive WebGL Simulations: Features customized 3D interactive canvases, metaball fluid systems, and responsive particle physics that react dynamically to cursor movements.
- FBO Ping-Pong Engineering: Implements advanced Frame Buffer Object (FBO) swapping graphics pipelines to render ultra-smooth, complex visual calculations directly inside the web browser.
- Cinematic Sound & Motion Sync: Integrates ambient background audio cues and micro-sound transitions designed to match every hover effect and page shift.
- Gatsby & React Architecture: Combines complex web graphics with a lightning-fast Gatsby framework to optimize delivery speeds, indexing, and overall performance.
- Curation of Custom Projects: Structures deep, highly stylized breakdowns of bespoke independent works, motion concepts, and collaborative enterprise digital products (ranging from More than human to specialized web frameworks).
