Betatron, designed by Mark Bloom at CoType Foundry, is a free-to-use display font inspired by sci-fi visions of the near future. Initially a playful Instagram experiment, it evolved into a full-fledged typeface in November 2022. Crafted entirely from vertical, horizontal, and 45° diagonal lines, this bold and dynamic alphabet echoes the parametric style of Wim Crouwel’s New Alphabet—but sharper and more daring. It includes a Latin Extended character set and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution‑No‑Derivatives 4.0, allowing personal and commercial use.
